The Elephant and the Hunter

This is the story of a kind elephant who lived happily in a rich forest. He did not know that there were evil people in the world who would harm others to achieve their own interests. Evil hunters tricked the elephant and conspired against him: they dug a hole his size in his path and covered it with grass, into which he fell. Then they split into two teams, one team beat him severely, and the other relieved his pain and fed him, but they did not take him out of the hole! They repeated this act until he trusted those he thought were friends, and they took him out of the hole. Soon, both teams enslaved him, and they repeated the trick with others until they took control of the forest and subjugated everyone to plunder its resources.
